Closing out 2022 with this well rounded release from Belgium's Toolate Groove. We've been feeling his output for a while and couldn't have asked for a better EP to close out the year.
Toolate Groove's sound is inspired by the 90s. It's prominent throughout his previous releases and mixes, and especially in the "Planet of Brooklyn EP".
The title track is a bass-line driven, hip-house bomb. Signature 90s synth stabs, gritty beats and a deep bassline creating a perfect platform for the vocal delivery. The dub version changes the pace for a lighter, more uptempo, contemporary groove.
Flip to "West End Breeze" and you'll be dropped front and centre into a heads down hands up beach closing set. Melodic strings combined with the bouncing baseline captures yet another side of Toolate Groove's multi-faceted approach to his art form.
