Seoul-residing leftfield ambient duo Salamanda transform Anchorsong aka London-based Japanese producer Masaaki Yoshida's intimate track "Windmills" into an extraterrestrial dreamworld. It's the latest remix single that forms part of Anchorsong's critically acclaimed fourth album 'Mirage', a record that evokes astral soundscapes of the mind.
On "Windmills", Salamanda create a whimsical imagined world that feels both familiar and strange simultaneously, built from ambient atmospherics and minimal beats. Gifting praise to the remix, Anchorsong adds: "I always admired Salamanda's otherworldly aesthetics, and they transformed the most intimate track of the album into something almost extraterrestrial. It makes me imagine an unknown planet emitting hazy lights somewhere in the galaxy."
