Following up the musical extravaganza that was "To Follow", Pillbox returns to the Chris Zippel
and Ghenwa Nemnom EP with a sequel of similarly epic proportions. Two remixes from Michael
Ritter and about : river thus continue the story, while a new interpretation from Chris Zippel
rounds off the release.

A seasoned performer and talented producer, Michael Ritter finds himself at the forefront of
modern underground dance from his Berlin home. Much in-demand with DJ appearances
across Europe, in Amsterdam, Ibiza, Hamburg and his Berlin hometown, a production career in
tandem has seen Michael feature on the likes of Obenmusik, YOMO Records and Aesthetika.
Meanwhile, his Grey Bar Hotel imprint also serves as a vehicle for his own production and remix
material.

Reworking "To Follow", the Michael Ritter remix provides a deeper, up-tempo vibe that takes the
central themes of the original and extends them into a stunning new interpretation. Making
elegant use of Ghenwa Nemnom's Qanun playing, Michael creates a sub-bassline and ticking
percussive groove framework that adds depth and dancefloor credentials to the organic
instrumentation. Glorious piano chord progressions add a melancholic air that ripples through
the 8-minute piece exuding class and craftsmanship.
Father and son duo, Oleg and Ervin Ivanov have witnessed an impressive rise to prominence
with their about : river production soubriquet. Since early work saw a debut for Easy Summer in
late 2018, a combination of Oleg's smooth dancefloor grooves, plus Ervin's clarinet and
keyboard playing, have seen a half century of production credits for the Estonian pair. Releases
for such celebrated labels as Nie Wieder Schlafen, Oleeva Records and Particles has elevated
about : river to new heights, not least in their, "Go Into The Mist" and "Round Table James: In
Between (Live)" for the latter in June 2021 and April 2022.

Taking their distinctive and melodious approach with "To Follow", the about : river remix glistens
with sublime new motifs that create a subtly different sonic environment to Zippel and
Nemnom's original. Using the soft vocal cut, a series of strings and emotive chord progressions
present a new backdrop from which the pair weave a shimmering new melodic narrative across
gentle beat and swung percussive shakers. The result is a typically impressive interpretation
that evolves post breakdown with its stratified layers, drawing favourable sonic comparisons to
Moby via its wonderful cadence and rich soundtrack feel.
