Second release from Gothenburg label The Free Spirit Society holds nothing but mysterious rhythms. Far away from the soulful vibe of opening single 'I Got This Feeling' by Urban Soul, Sankt Göran and Olle Norås invites Gothenburg resident Cazuma and ivorian Mr Raoul K, based in Lübeck. Being former artists on japanese connoiseur-label Mule, they're both likely to tickle your imagination.
Cazuma's Yume is a delicately balanced trip, from a broke, raw groove towards the light. Striving upwards all the way, higher through beautifully orchestrated pads, strings and chants. If you flip the record, you will find 'Envie' by Mr Raoul K. If you know Raoul's sound, you would probably find this one to be on the clubbier tip. Bulding from a groove of Raoul's patented percussive arrangement comes an electronic sandstorm, from tiny stabs through a full on and freaked out break where the mighty beat is totally lost. And then back at it! This is really one of those tracks that you can't help yourself from playing whenever control is lost on the dancefloor, a gateway to the crowd's inner animal.
