Titeknots continues his 2022 run with more melodic, widescreen excursions.

First up in the batch, "Breathe Then Yield" is a deeper cut exploring the idea of music as playful meditation. The looping melodic phrase is layered and manipulated, throwing things off balance before clicking back into focus over big chords and clacking drums.

"Released In Layers" lives up to its name by slowly unfurling into full bloom. The central riff glides across knocking drums and a deep bass rumble, calling to mind lush jungle canopies and colourful wildlife.

Returning to the dancefloor with "Spread On Thick", Titeknots next draws on his love for Jazz Funk and live Disco. Flexing his bass and rhythm guitar chops to lay a firm foundation for the joyful melodies that come later, it's another entry in the well stocked Summer dancefloor subsection of the Titeknots catalogue.

With a music career approaching 20 years, Jonathan James has seen support throughout all corners of the specialist and independent music world. With his first release under the name Hint resulting in an invite to do a Peel Session in 2002, he hasn't stopped since. A constant desire to explore and experiment has resulted in a varied catalogue of moods and styles. His music has been hype enough to get rewinds in Plastic People, but has also been played in uniquely intimate scenarios - soundtracking the birth of a first child, or a walk down the aisle.

Previous releases have collected multiple plays on BBC Radio One and Radio 6Music as well as tastemaker outlets like Rinse FM, NTS, KCRW and Balamii. His music has found a place in club sets by the likes of Bonobo, Benji B, De La Soul's Maseo and Special Request. Playlist features include those from Adidas, Purple Disco Machine and Dameela. He has released on Ninja Tune, Tru Thoughts, Sony, Wah Wah 45s and Boogie Angst.
