Piston Recordings is proud to welcome veteran music maestro Ebar back to the label with the stunning, Work For Love. Ebar has a long list of respected releases on some of the world’s most heralded dance music labels including King Street Sounds, West End Records, Peng Records and RCA. His remix credits range from underground heroes Ananda Project to commercial artists such as Boomkat, Ludacris, Hanna Hais, and Deborah Harry (aka 80’s icon Blondie). His links with Piston’s head honcho Rogerio Martins precede the labels inception, it was Ebar who released Rogerio’s first record – Deep Flight EP, on Sifted Recordings back in 2003. The following year, the pair got together again in the studio, releasing In the Springtime under their New York Pillars project. Not long after Piston was launched, Ebar remixed Rogerio’s track – Amethystu, which no doubt boosted the fledgling labels profile within the deep house scene. It’s an honour and a privilege to have him back on the label.

The Original Mix opens the release, offering up a vibrant club mover thanks to punchy beats, shuffling percussions and some funky ass basses. The groove flows effortlessly, with an infectious diva vocal at its core which feeds off the classic chords and masterful arrangement. A top-notch slice that will not disappoint. B&S Concept return to Piston with a classy remix. Better known as French duo BiigC and Seher, their last outing here was on remix duties for Rogerio’s superb track Vale. The remix here offers up a solid dancefloor mover, with tight 909 drums laying the foundation for sweeping chords and plucky basses to work the floor. The vocal is used beautifully, giving the track vibrance and character that will keep party faithful locked in for the duration. We welcome Canadian producer Trevor Gordon back to the label with a top-notch remix. His last effort was a fantastic interpretation of Richi Risco’s Promises which proved popular among jocks and we’ve no doubt this one will follow suit. Trevor takes us on a much deeper journey, with warm basses and mesmerizing pads working wonders against the backdrop of that outstanding vocal. Tight beats deliver a steady rhythmic flow which ties the groove together brilliantly.
