Up-and-coming London-based talent RETNA provides an electrifying two-track EP as he makes his Sola Nauts debut with ‘The Crown’.

‘The Crown’ opens with a combination of heavyset rolling grooves and melodically-charged energy from the outset. Combining an undulating arrangement of weighty kicks, twisted vocals and ominous analogue synths, its boss-battle-like soundscape offers a uniquely gritty dancefloor head-turner.

‘Ghenna’ rounds off the release, continuing the sinister feel with more potent Tech grooves and electrifying musicality. A combination of punchy drum work and percussive flair and intensifying breaks lead you down a dark and winding path that ends at gripping synth-laced euphoria.

London-based DJ and producer RETNA has been putting his weight into the studio to fine-tune and develop his sound. Cultivating his craft at Point Blank Music School, we are left with a house music enthusiast that loves the darker edges, amalgamating a style that is unique and turning heads on the dance floor.

Releases on his label Botar Records have drawn the attention of a continued string of DJs, including Adam Beyer, Skream, Carlo Lio, De La Swing, Chris Lake and more. The hype rapidly building around the RETNA name piqued the interest of label boss Mark Knight. RETNA’s single ‘Pressure’ was signed to Toolroom Records which achieved great success hitting Number 1 on Beatport’s Overall chart.

More recently, RETNA is making some major moves on the famous Saved Records with label boss, Nic Fanciulli. ‘This Is Life’ has already received support from Jamie Jones, MK, Solardo and many more. Additionally, it has been no stranger to feature on top tastemaker radio shows from the likes of Danny Howard's BBC Radio 1 show, Pete Tong's Radio 1 essential mix and Gorgon City's show on Kiss FM.
