Cortex Thrill conclude their superb Cosmic Voyage trilogy with no less than 5 sublime tracks on Episode 3. The journey so far has been epic with this one. We’ve traversed galaxies and listened in awe at the wonderment of the universe, all brought to our ears by the vision and expert craftsmanship from Ivo and Robert. The guys are currently enjoying a string of releases, with quality remixes for other artists, and so much more to come. They also featured at the 2022 edition of Legacy Festival in Belgium, delighting the crowds with far out sounds and some live percussion performances.

Magnetars opens the release, introing with wide, spacey pads and bright plucks. A strong, marching bassline takes control as flurries of dynamic percussions power the rhythms alongside a punchy kick drum. Superb start. The Original Mix of Milky Way is next, and sets the pulses racing with a driving progressive groover. Warm basses and emotive chords combine as infectious melodies cascade through the sound. A solid, pumped-up track for the floors. Up next, we have Croatian award-winning DJ and producer Yakka, with his solid remix of Mily Way. Yakka is one of Croatia’s leading music figures. Since the late 2000’s, he’s worked in many different roles within the industry. Great to have him on board for his Bonzai debut. On the remix here, Yakka injects a techier flavour into the groove, while retaining that synthy cosmic vibe. Evolving basses sit on a bed of punchy beats and crispy hi hats with rhythmic percussions working their magic in between, a top-notch cut. Sirius is next, drawing us in with its brightness and then sending us down a rabbit hole of rolling rhythms, mystical synths and driving basses, a stomper of a tune that is not to be missed. Gargantula closes out the release and ultimately the trilogy, and what better way to end this perfect series with a massive tune filled with all kinds of flavoursome sounds and grooves. Trippy in places, the track is powered by a deep, subby bass and subdued kick drums. The huge draw on this one is the beautifully crafted melodies, percolating effects and sublime arrangement, another solid effort form the lads.
