ASW joins the Lots of Practice family with the six track concept EP, More Than Yesterday. This body of work precludes what would become the most transformational months of the artist’s life. A story written between two locations and several states of being. Together, the culmination of songs exude and amplify a multitude of emotions and feel like something out of a dream. As a mental health advocate, ASW has raised thousands of dollars for a number of nonprofits like Crisis Text Line through his community, Grooving For Good, driven by creative expression. He’s done this while sharing his own experiences with mental health challenges and continually works on bridging the worlds of art, music and wellbeing. In September 2021, DJ Mag listed him as an emerging artist to watch and has since been featured by Space Yacht, Abracadabra TV, SPIN, Sirius XM and more. With the More Than Yesterday EP, ASW builds this formidable path with a powerful pallet. Falling into this pool of sonic melodies, you’ll first find ‘Abundance’... a reflection of a moment in time and a primer for what comes out of a trial of transformation. Like a breath of fresh air, ‘In My Dreams’, featuring ASW’s own vocals, provides a powerful pop, evoking the waking wonder of letting go. For the third track, ASW taps ATL based rappers Chris Hovers and Victor Rashad to remind us of the magnitude staying in the moment can bring, beckoning for meaning, elevating the already epic anthem even further. Then, as if in a feeling of weightlessness, we sway into a state of relaxation with ‘Relax, once again featuring ASW’s voice, relaying the message to keep moving with the waves, no matter how rough it gets. A calm continues to wash over with the help of LA based singer Nahima on ‘Inspired’ and like she soulfully states, we can’t help but get inspired by this gentle journey through seamless sweet harmonies. Floating through the tide, we arrive at the title track of the EP, ‘More Than Yesterday’, featuring singer/songwriter/poet from the band Joiner, Joseph Michael Lowery.
