London-based Japanese producer Anchorsong aka Masaaki Yoshida's novel single “New World” gets an experimental ambient reinterpretation from Yokohama-born producer and musician Hinako Omori. Originally released on Anchorsong’s acclaimed fourth album ‘Mirage’, a record that evoked hazy soundscapes constructed with wind instruments, choirs and global sonic particles – “New World” is an uplifting sonic expedition from the highly-feted artist.
Hinako Omori channels her holistic energy and beguiling sounds of modular synths and field recordings to Anchorsong’s “New World”, evoking a space of impossible dimensions and gentle momentum. The remix's entrancing repetition and enveloping synths create sensitivity to texture, as aspects of Anchorsong’s original composition are syphoned through angelic gaps that are almost Hiroshi Yoshimura-esque in nature (a pioneer of ambient music in Japan).
