Music is his way of life%u2026.. Richard Earnshaw he has been active in the world of production for 20 years. After beginning his classical training at the age of 7, he completed formal training with a music degree from the University of London; where the freedom of expression he found in jazz, funk and soul beckoned to him to leave behind the manuscript and metronome%u2026 Now as an accomplished and very popular producer, artist, musician and engineer, along with over half a million productions sold, it%u2019s fair to say our %u2018Mr Keys%u2019 has well and truly earned his stripes as one of Britain%u2019s great dance music producers! After his debut single release %u2018People Are People%u2019 on SoulfuricDeep in 2002 and a string of high profile productions/remixes, the following year saw Richard and friend and fellow musician Danny Jones set up their own label Duffnote %u2013 one of many to come! Duffnote was followed by One51 Recordings in 2004 and Guess Records in 2005, both set up as vehicles to push the various styles of sound emerging from the Earnshaw lab, all of which are going strong today! As well as output on his own labels, Richard has recorded and releases tracks for Defected, Soulfuric, King St, Swing City, Large, BMG, Clubstar, Ministry of Sound, Hed Kandi, Purple Music, Morehouse and Peppermint Jam to name but a few. He also records and produces under various monikers including Spiritchaser, The Little Big Band and One51. In 2012 Richard released his debut album 'In Time' featuring an outstanding selection of guest performers including Jocelyn Brown, Carleen Anderson, Roy Ayers, Ursula Rucker, Kenny Thomas, Imogen Ryall, to name a few! The album spawned the soulful hit singles 'In Time' (Ft. Grant Nelson, Tom Moulton, John Morales & RasmusFaber Mixes) and 'Cry Me A River' (Ft.Black Coffee & Leftside Wobble Mixes). Other recent releases from Richard include the singles 'iCulture', 'Won't Let Go' (ft. Natasha Watts), and his brand new release from ModifiedPeople 'We Are' on Duffnote.
