Chris Watson debuts Nowt alias with 'High Street EP' this June.
One half of South London staple FYI Chris, Watson has previously appeared on Rhythm Section, Banoffee Pies, Black Acre, and his own West Friends imprint. Now prepping his first full solo release under the new Nowt alias, the Rye Wax mainstay delivers a set of dreamy house cuts for Will Hofbauer's Third Place.
First airing on Bradley Zero's BBC Essential Mix in 2020, 'Polestar' blends lighthearted hip-hop samples, twinkling arps and floating pads together to kick off the 12' before 'Owt' follows with bouncy drums, sliding pads, and warped vocal cuts to close out the A-side.
On the flip, shimmering percussion, deep lows, and choppy breaks meet on 'Magnasound (Lazerdub Mix)' before 'Docks n Locks' brings the EP to a soft landing, drenching the B2 in ambient bliss. A digital bonus version of the B1, featuring samples from a 1981 LaserDisc advert, is available exclusively via Bandcamp.
