Andy Ammo is an incredible musician, performer, DJ, connoisseur of amazing food and a talented songwriter/producer. To celebrate his 40th bday, he is sharing his debut album, "Bored Ness." It's an homage to a lifetime passion of music that ranges from 90s influenced beatless ambient electronic music to idm & jungle to guitar-laden post rock.

Last year Andy released his debut song "Full-Path" on our "5 years of FV" compilation. While he had always loved music as a fan, performer and songwriter, he hadn't shared much of his original work with the world and had simply dabbled in production. Putting that one song out seems to have opened the floodgates to Andy's creative vision as he wrote this entire body of work in the following months. You can hear Andy's amazing ear for melody and harmony within these fully realized compositions. From a production standpoint, many of the songs span multiple genres and have ambitious forms that he executed with grace. Danny Goliger helped mix, master and executive produce the project which helped bring Andy's vision into this pristine form.

Andy, being a comical wordsmith, describes the album as, "...the unctuous drippings of marbled melancholy roasted over a spit running at 170 bpm triggering a dancefloor Maillard reaction of aural umami with extra guac."

To give some context, I met Andy several years ago at a festival, right before doing a performance with my band. He came up to me wearing a full red ADIDAS tracksuit and asked if he could play bongos in the show. My band and I had a 1 hour rehearsed set with all original music that Andy had never heard before and for some reason I agreed to let him join. Being the talented musician that he is, he crushed it and we went on to become great friends and have since been on many musical/culinary adventures together.

Big love Andy, congrats on the debut album... it's incredible and so stoked that it's coming out!!
