With Dreamscape, Nicolas Bougaieff adds a new entry to his backlog release series on Denkfabrik. In this three-track EP, written and produced in 2014, he explores evocative melodic soundscapes. The record also features early experiments with rhythm, as notes move off the grid and back in a gentle rubato. The warm tone of a Minimoog provides the main voice throughout. Surrounded in opener 'Descent' by a deep pulse and delicate bells, it later takes center stage in 'Aria' as a concise and emotional solo. Melodies evolve with a hint of chromaticism in the title track to close the record on a moving cinematic note.
