Fueled on pizza and the spirit of dance music, Chef Sam O.B. has lovingly cooked up four courses for our aural connoisseurs to enjoy: %u201CJust A Slice.%u201D

Like any good pizza, it all starts with the dough, and %u201CMaking Dough%u201D gets us right on track. Borrowing elements from house classics of the past, it rises on a jackin%u2019 groove complete with a funky fermented low-end and dashes of vocals from the chef himself.

%u201CLe Sauce%u201D offers a tangy burst of flavor atop our dough foundation; a sort of subtle and seductive palate that only the most refined of sauces can provide. Twists and turns await as the layers of seasoned live instrumentation unveil themselves (best enjoyed past dusk).

Next, as you might have expected, is %u201CCheezin%u2019%u201D - many people%u2019s favorite part of a pie. This one is sharp; bursting with mouthwatering umami energy and, like any good chef, O.B. has added just enough to leave you wanting more of the catchy interwoven melodies and rhythms sprinkled within.

Finally, it%u2019s time to grab a piping hot %u201CJust A Slice%u201D out of the oven - an amalgamation of all groovin%u2019 ingredients added thus far and the title track. A bubbling and elastic bassline pairs with the percussion of various textures and savory synth lines, combining for a well-balanced meal sure to keep your senses engaged.

Sam O.B. (fka Obey City) has a unique energy. This soft-spoken New York native is at once a producer, deejay, label boss, tastemaker and champion of the new-New York underground. He effortlessly handles each role with zen-like serenity%u2014in a lost tradition of American culture, one may have said %u2018suave.%u2019

What started as casual experimentation and beat making for rappers and friends has evolved over the last decade into an unrelenting solo passion, resulting in a steady stream of soul-drenched bedroom music that avoids trends in favor of the enduring. He%u2019s released records with LuckyMe (UK), Astro Nautico (a label he co-founded), and Classic Music Company through his collaborative project, Dave Sam.

Sam is humble when it comes to just about everything, but his penchant for the sounds of soul, funk, dance and smooth jams has instilled a vibe that has grown up alongside a rapidly evolving urban musical landscape. The result is glossy, shifting music that seeks the weird, the unrestrained, the cleverly odd.

His new music under the name Sam O.B. expands upon this musical background but ends up being a truer reflection of his artistic spirit than ever before. He continues to collaborate, write and produce music with exciting new musicians and vocalists outside of his own solo endeavors with one goal in mind: to bring positive noise into the modern world.
