Adrian Matos returns to Piston Recordings alongside debutant Molac with their superb StArless Sky EP. Adrian’s last outing here was his A Brief Touch Of Happiness EP, which was very well received. A top-rated DJ, he focusses mainly in music production and sound exploration, working hard every day to develop his own sound that identifies himself. Molac is an electronic music project created by Ecuadorian producer and composer, Alan Penafiel. An eclectic artist with a focus on experimental elements, he has released a raft of top tracks on several labels over they years, great to have him on board.

Molac joins Adrian on Starless Sky which gets the release moving with a distinct, cosmic vibe and a mesmerizing groove taking hold right from the off. Chunky beats and shuffling percussions lay the foundation as deep, warm basses set the groove on fire. Soft vocals add character alongside hypnotic chords and delicate pianos. Adrian goes solo on Something ‘Bout You, a supercharged, discofied, deep house groover. Vibrant and fresh, the track will lighten up any dancefloor thanks to a bold, diva vocal, groovy chords and sprinklings of funky notes. Molac and Adrian combine once again on Constant Expansion and, in keeping with the cosmic theme, this one does not disappoint. A plush, chunky groove, made up of infectious basses and atmospheric keys, the track is driven by a solid drum construction and smooth, flowing rhythms. Simply stunning and a must have, no doubt. Looking Around concludes the release and is the second solo slice from Adrian. A deep and moody affair, the groove goes dark in places, contrasted with eerie notes and chilling FX. Clubby vocals stand in contrast to the groove, adding a layer of clarity in a murky world. Wonderfully trippy and definitely not to be missed.
