Previously only available on 12' vinyl, this month will finally witness the digital release of 'King of Light' by Mark Flash, on the highly venerated UR.
Hailing from New York but now based in Detroit, with previous releases on Upstart, Footwork and Hi-Phen Music Delivery, Mark Flash joined the Underground Resistance movement and delivered the excellent 'Brasilia EP' in 2008. Now for his second solo outing on this world-class label, Mark lays down three tracks of hi-tech funk on 'King of Light'.
The title track is a gorgeous blend of emotional melody, the funkiest stabs and a glorious groove. You'll be basking in the light of a Detroit summer's sunshine while that unmistakable UR sound fills your ears and your heart.
The second cut, 'Dark Symphony' is so aptly titled that it barely needs an introduction. As the beats slip in you're already hypnotised, before the sinister strings hit, and the bongos urge your body to the dancefloor.
The tribal chant of 'Eagle Warriors' completes this trio of sonic excellence, calling you to arms, while its epic percussive sound washes over you.
With 'King of Light' Mark Flash once again proves that not only is he a skilled DJ but also a master music craftsman and an excellent addition to the faultless Underground Resistance army.
