South London multi-instrumentalist, producer, DJ and composer extraordinaire, Dan Samsa, kicks off his 2022 release account with another single drop from his highly anticipated debut album, 'Contours', on Apollo Records.

Demonstrating his instrumental chops, the 'Impression' single is a kaleidoscopic gambol through spiralling synths, gut wrenching bass, abstract choral tones and tumbling breakbeat/jazz fusion drums. Samsa's influences in jazz, classical, Detroit techno and drum 'n' bass are easy to hear, but what's refreshing is to hear them played out by Samsa and his ensemble musicians with such conviction.

Samsa's forthcoming album project 'Contours', to be released on Apollo Records in April of 2022, assembles eleven stunning tracks that shows exactly why he is one of the most exciting talents to emerge from the UK jazz and electronica scene right now. Collaborations with vocalists Zosia Jagodzinska and Rosie Strobel can be found on the long player, whilst the arrangement skills of Raphael Clarkson form the inspiriting brass section. The album's 360° recording techniques superbly amalgamates the sonic gloss of the final production aesthetics.

Samsa has been regularly performing live and DJing, shaping his sound and collaborating with fellow musicians, vocalists and writers. Influenced by the likes of Kamikaze Space Programme, Dillinja, Lemon D, Photek, Clark, Special Request and The Future Sound of London, there is an obvious IDM element present in his work, reflecting the hard-hitting and uncompromising rhythms of techno and UK jungle. However, it's his classical training and experience performing with live acts such as Kae Tempest that enabled him with the technical skill to create such immaculate constructions.
