A German producer based in Kiel, the most populous city in the northern state of Schleswig-Holstein, has delivered four marvellous productions - all inspired by the wonderful season of Winter. Keeping them in perfect balance between beautiful electronica fragments and hard-hitting techno, the 'Voices of Winter' EP will please those enjoying music at home and not disappoint the demanding taste of a regular club-goer.
Each production instantly grabs your attention, an essential communicative immediacy dominates in each second, where all the technical resources of the producer are put to the test within a refined framework. Synth phrases leap into the foreground where necessary, light up the glossy landscape of vast baselines with dazzling brightness, enrich the counterpointing driving impulses of percussion, alternating with passages of more meditative, trapped in a crystal glass sphere, heavenly calmness. Constructive wisdom intertwined with melancholic musical poetry results in extreme elegance. Simply sublime.
Here is what the producer himself told us about the EP:
"…even more important is the love I have for the North. For some reason, I always wanted to own a little cabin far up in the north (especially Norway or Iceland) and just spend my days there. (This is why I am attending Scandinavian studies). For me, winter, cold, snow and ice don't necessarily mean a lack of emotion and prettiness. That was what I was trying to achieve with those tracks. I wanted to focus on the nice things of winter, like this mysterious feel of moonlight being reflected by snow, the cracking of ice or snow when you walk on it, the quietness and the cosy feeling you get when you're at home…"
