He has received the Lifetime Achievement Award at the Nightlife Awards at the Amsterdam Dance Event in 2017 and in 2020, received the Dutch Buma Gouden Harp Award for his contributions in music. “Play That Beat Mr. DJ”, one of the first releases on Tommy Boy Records in 1983 by G.L.O.B.E & Whiz Kid, is considered a seminal hip hop track and gets a new spin from this esteemed DJ to celebrate National DJ Day on January 20.
