Through thick and thin, Scanner Darkly continues to deliver high quality melodic techno to the masses. This release is another excellent addition to the Deep Tech Recordings catalog. Each selection on this EP carries a deliberately dark vibe.
Beta is a driving, steady, warehouse, and desert all wrapped up in a sultry but haunting female vocal. These are the adjectives used to describe this first selection on this EP.
Blood Lust switches things up with an intelligent broken beat to start things off and then switching up back to the usual floor that we've come to expect from Scanner Darkly. With a driving drone sounding lead bass line Blood lust crescendos nicely into a build up of arpeggiation and then finally a satisfying drop. The very bright and energetic Blood Lust would find a home in any peak time hour set.
Insurrection (Original Mix) is a relaxed however soaring tune. Melodically rich it's one of the favorites of the EP. The soaring lead adds an energy the to the tune keeping the dance floor moving or doubles as a great opening / closing selection.
Insurrection (Remake) conveys a more driving pace and moves along more urgently then the original. Intense and moody this track really captures the imagination.
Another classic addition from Scanner Darkly, happily added to the second year of the Deep Tech Recordings catalog. We look forward to more in 2022.
