Synchronicity EP

Tom Taylor

Dessous
DES110 | 2012-07-09
Tom Taylor has been making waves for years now, crafting exquisite dancefloor gems for the likes of 20:20 Vision, Poker Flat, Compost, and his own label 2Pin music. Here, Taylor offers up three pieces of sumptuous deep house for Steve Bug's Dessous Recordings.
The Synchronicity EP kicks off with the tightly wound 'Jazz Dialect' - an irresistible piece of electronic funk that weaves its magic around a driving Detroit-infused groove. The cut-up vocals and live drum fills share a vibe with some of the funkier Pepe Bradock cuts, reveling in the barely restrained joy of making people move.
'Synchronistic' takes the vibe little more late night, but no less funky. Taylor's clear mastery at the controls results in a deep chunk of floor-working house music - the tension and release is crafted to work equally well at peak time as in the very small hours.
Teaming up with fellow Brit and renowned DJ Simon Morell for the third part of this release, 'Monster Mind' reveals an ear for subtlety. Referencing classic UK ambient / electronica from the likes of Aphex Twin, this track will slay more open minded audiences - or provide equally spellbinding moments back at home.
