Magec (Guanche Berber Ma-eq,) 'possesses radiance' or 'mother of brightness', in Tenerife, was a deity in the ancient Berber mythology. He or she was god or goddess (actual gender is unknown) of the Sun and the light and also thought to be one of the principal divinities in Guanche religion. According to legend, Magec was captured by Guayota who held him or her prisoner inside mount Teide.
Magec was later liberated by Achaman.
Frankawara brings a very special release. A recorded live set using rare percussive instruments.
Fusing orchestral elements, African rhythms with a dose of Techno Frankawara manages to nail this original live performance The iconic 909 baseline follows a string quartet together with a huge xylophone linked to a 80's Yamaha DX7 giving a 'sub Saharian' feel that hits closer to the more spiritual roots of music.
