Portuguese artist Edward Bei aka Deebop debuts on Piston Recordings with the superb Promised Land EP. Edward is a musically attuned voyager, keenly exploring dimensions between Ambient and Techno music. He incorporates the various sounds of nature; rain dripping steadily, the yielding flow of water down a stream, and the wind rustling the leaves of a tree. His sound is minimalistic and has a simplicity in its core that creates an atmosphere of calmness. His Deebop persona is dedicated to Deep House and House. Delighted to have him on board.

Promised Land opens the release, offering up a solid, chunky groove for the dancefloor. Bright, crispy percussions inject tight rhythms as strong beats drive the groove. Warm chords cascade alongside cool vocal shots and famous spoken word which sends shivers down the spine. Friday Night ramps up the energy levels with an upfront, analogue style groove. Punchy kicks and exotic percussions join mesmerizing pads while sharp vocal shots come through. The bassline stands out, infecting the soul and forcing you to move. Nu Samba completes the EP with a different direction aimed at the ass shakers out there. An organic flavour with a raw, live element immediately draws attention.
