Warsaw’s Private Press debut on Ben Sims’ Hardgroove this August, the Polish duo drop the ‘Busy Body’ EP, a five-track EP of funk- laced techno for the UK legend’s long-running label.
Having chalked up appearances on Feel My Bicep, Rekids and Indigo Aera, Private Press are well known to DJs for a diverse palette that swings from dubbed out to rollicking while often providing a house-friendly swing to their productions. On ‘Busy Body’, Private Press kick off with ‘Highly’, the sort of drummy groove that Hardgroove is often synonymous with, before getting their heads down on the earthy, pulsing and catchily titled ‘DFS 2nd Ver 1.1’. ‘Busy Body’ then treats us to two versions of ‘ENERGEE’, which, although sounding like entirely different tracks, both fulfil their role as taut, crisp bangers dripping with energy.
Rounding out with the hectic, siren-driven sounds of ‘HTL’, ‘Busy Body’ is an EP that oozes a kind of reckless, peak time abandon and fun Hardgroove does so well.
