Following fine, floor-friendly releases from Andy Ash, Le Mano, Dan Wainwright and Ilija Rudman & Andre Esput – most blessed with fine reworks from the likes of Ron Trent, Man Power and Hardway Brothers – Through Gods Own Eyes returns to action via two club-ready remixes of tracks by Italian producer My Friend Dario.

Both of the tracks that have been given the remix treatment first appeared on the seductive, slow-motion and Balearic-minded Cosmic Sailing EP, which was released by Through Gods Eyes’ sister label NuNorthern Soul last year.

While that set was more concerned with mood-enhancing and sun-kissed scene-setting, the two new revisions presented here have been tailor-made to make you move, taking My Friend Dario’s tracks from the beach bars and pool parties of Ibiza to the packed, sweaty dancefloors of the White Isle’s most iconic clubs.

Circus main man and former Cream resident Yousef steps up first to a chunky, hypnotic and gently uplifting big room take on ‘Fenice’. Driven forwards by a trademark, tech-tinged house groove – all hazy stabs, bustling beats and complimentary bass – Yousef’s superb interpretation makes extensive use of the twinkling, fluid and evocative piano solos and dreamy chords that were such an inspiring feature of My Friend Dario’s original version. If the first breakdown doesn’t make the hairs on the back of your next stand on end, the second most certainly will.

The second interpretation comes courtesy of label regular Le Mano, an Anglo-Italian DJ and producer whose trademark sound joins the dots between progressive house, techno, Italo-disco and deep house. He tackles ‘Neve Su Acriele’, delivering a throbbing, kaleidoscopic and trance-inducing interpretation full of atmospheric tech-house beats, rising and falling synth lines, enveloping chords, bubbling acid-style electronics and spacey motifs. Sitting somewhere between the noughties space disco sounds of Lindstrom, neo-trance and hands-in-the-air house, it’s a stunning and rush-inducing interpretation.
