A veteran of the Baltimore scene, Tracey Cooper makes his Nordic Trax debut with Following Your Light. The seven-track ep is chockful of bouncy house goodness that will put a smile on your face.
Following Your Light is a diverse ep from an accomplished producer that incorporates elements of jazz, funk, jackin' house & deep techno into a beautiful release. Whether floating in the dreamy atmosphere of the title track, or shuffling to the jazzy house of Reminiscing, there are deep layers here with a distinct vibe running throughout the work.
The dancefloor journey continues, and in a few different directions: we move from the thumping bassline of Bottom Hammer and driving force of Intelligence, to the uplifting keys of Transmission From Saturn and piano hook of My Music. The songs are familiar and yet brand new. Tracey closes things out with A Liberated Future, a deep techno-ish track that follows an irresistible Detroit groove.
Tracey Cooper modestly describes himself -- as just a cat from Baltimore who makes tracks -- and he first came on the scene with Brothers and Sisters EP on Greenskeepers in 2005. He has followed that up with an impressive run of releases for Sampled Detroit, Blockhead, Phobic, Delve Deeper, Greenhouse and Open Sound to name a few. Keep your ears open for Tracey Cooper, future positive transmissions guaranteed.
