Toulouse based DJ and producer Geoffroy Laventure returns to Piston Recordings with the superb, Just A Man. This one follows his debut - Momentum EP, from the Summer of 2018. Having been inspired by the greats of House Music, Geoffrey soon found himself in the grasp of electronic music. First, he started out on the decks before moving into production, where he has notched up a very impressive release count on several top labels worldwide. A hugely talented artist, we’re always excited to hear his latest efforts.

First up, house joint Just A Man gets us moving. A solid groove made up of invasive basses and a tight rhythmic percussion section. Hi strings and short stabs break through the low frequencies as a groovy riff fades up. Top-notch stuff to get the party started. Up next, we have Proudly Black, which takes us down the deep house route. Beautifully constructed, the groove is infectious, thanks to a deep bassline and funky elements. Dark pianos and spoken vocals combine to create a diverse and dynamic arrangement while tight beats and flurries of percussions keep the ass shakin’. Superb stuff that is not to be missed.
