Leftfield electronic duo Con-Finement contemplate the tenuous state of the world and the human condition with their entrancing KID Recordings debut 'Inside The Outside'. A hypnotic amalgamation of ambient, industrial, dark synth-pop and minimal techno, the brooding set was heavily influenced by Kraftwerk, Cabaret Voltaire, Brian Eno, Harold Budd, Bill Laswell, Autechre and The Cure.

Employing an array of vintage analog synths, warm pads, drum loops, distorted guitars, muted horns and cryptic vocal samples, the Miami-based multi-instrumentalists' construct an opaque subterranean soundscape with stark intricately-layered compositions awash in vaporous atmospherics, dreamy textures, glassy Teutonic rhythms, lumbering bass, ghostly drones, transfixing melodies and deep-thrusting monochrome grooves fluctuating between primitive and futuristic. The result is a shadowy exploration combining noir sensibilities and a touch of tongue-in-cheek humor to elevate the existential introspection into an immersive, deliciously trippy extrospection.
