Nikko.Z's Dopamine White continues a strong summer season by welcoming Eichenbaum to the label for his debut EP. Born in Argentina, but now based in New Zealand, Andres Eichenbaum aka Eichenbaum began his journey into electronic music at a young age. Cutting his teeth as a DJ first, Andres shared the booth with some of Argentina's best home-grown talent at the trendiest venues throughout Buenos Aires, before eventually relocating to Waiheke Island, New Zealand. Continuing his journey as DJ down under, Andres has programmed music for some of Auckland's premiere venues, most notably Neck of the Woods, Studio The Venue and AURA, while opening for international talents Booka Shade and Dave Seaman. Early into his production career, Eichenbaum first appeared in January of this year with a contribution to the Soundteller Records ‘Vibrant Vibeland' series. Now presenting his first ever artist EP, Eichenbaum debuts on Dopamine White with ‘From The Clouds'.
Comprised of two tracks it's the deep, sultry sounds of the title selection which open the EP. Fluid grooves, smooth rhythms and an array of emerging atmospheres unite across this nine-minute journey. Fragmented arps descend over the framework as the first act evolves, bringing spirited moments with them, before luminous tunes and trippy modulation provide a colourful bridge into a thumping finale.
‘Freefall' rounds the release out with a similar and equally impressive sonic profile. Once again, it's a bed of punchy beats and rolling bass which anchor the piece, while an array of choppy percussion and pulsating rhythms take centre stage above. A wavy lead line and cinematic swells rise across the first movement, bringing tension and anticipation leading into the main break. Muted beats melt down into a reservoir of hazy electronics, resulting in a mystical interlude and perfectly setting the stage for a finale of driving grooves and tastefully twisted arps. It caps off a great Dopamine White debut for Eichenbaum, who has certainly got his production career off to a great start.
