Jorge Jaramillo (also known as Who Da Funk, an essential name of New York´s House Music Scene, part of record labels like Subliminal / Lectro Chik Records) and Cales & Mr Hyde (Dualism Records Miami, Electric Mode, My Own Beat), join for the first time to collaborate in their new single called “Calma”. The dancefloor is a special place for house music lovers, and the pandemic has forced us all to miss it for a long time. “Calma” celebrates the experience of dancing. Jaramillo, world known for his unique talent for music, basically present in every Djs playlist with tracks like Shiny Disco Balls or Sting Me Red, and Cales & Mr Hyde, rising artist, with important jobs released through his label Dualism Records, and more recently signed by Electric Mode (Soul Central Record Label), recognize dancing, those moments at the dancefloor, like something exceptional and strongly emotional. Through dancing people gets to experience diverse states of mind created by perception. What we see, what we touch, what we feel, and last but not least, what we hear. Emotions that turn to a feeling good general sense, a calm feeling, an inner euphoric peace sensation. “Calma” proposes a journey through all those moments. Chronologically, using raw and solid drums along hypnotic melodies, the vocals invite to navigate in a sea of back-and-forth feelings and emotions, a mixed scenario of images: real scenes from the club, and dreamy visions of coffee trees, guaduales (bamboo) and moving nature. In the end, something similar to the dancefloor experience, the track walks through the real world and what is perceived and created by our senses, a mixed reality in the middle of sanity and psychodelia. “Calma” is also the union of two musical worlds: the feeling of New York finest 4/4, with drums and flavors from Colombia. “Calma” reveals to those who hear a dancefloor that might be located in the middle of the concrete jungle, or in the Colombian Mountains. At this point, the track leaves the listener free to close his eyes, to create around, his favorite scenario. “Calma” is then, an homage to dancing and to the dancefloor, to the emotions we all find there. “Calma” is the way Jorge Jaramillo and Cales & Mr Hyde welcome 2021 summer season, a new dancing and perception era.
