Bedfunk are pleased to present to you this outstanding release. Written just before the pandemic hit, capturing the mood of the moment and indeed what was to come, highlighting the mood of people around the world of fear, frustration, anger and separation under a backdrop of political, racial and social unrest.
From the off the drums on this track set the tone, deep moody and driving. Once the bass drops and the synth chords come in the track just rises and rises. Crying out for change, just as all our lives have changed from that fateful day. The world has changed forever, calling for a Revolution and people to unite. Something everything we can relate to after feeling lost & locked down.
Once Pat contacted Cleveland with the idea for a track to highlight the mood of the world Cleveland quickly penned the lyrics and recorded the vocals. Straight away Pat knew he had something special and decided this was one that needed to go onto his label so he could make sure everything was just right and he could see his vision through.
Off the back of his recent releases on New York%u2019s Nervous Records and Deep house maestro%u2019s Atjazz Record company, Pat knew this was the time to release Wake Up.
Pat first worked with Cleveland way back 2017 when he remixed Cleveland%u2019s Fly Free a track released on VEC Records for Pats mentor and long-term friend Dee Majek, which was Cleveland%u2019s first outing in the Soulful house world coming from a soul & Jazz background. UK producers took notice and since then he hasn%u2019t looked back. His next release was the smash hit %u201CWith You%u201D by Sy Sez on Soul Heaven Records. The follow up was Stay Together produced by rising stars The Journeymen on Neil Pierce%u2019s Rhemi Music.
On this release Cleveland has really turned it out with this masterful Performance as well as penning the mood of the world during this pandemic. He has injected his vocal prowess and finesse to bring this tune to life. His vocals glide along the swinging drums and smooth layered deep synths and rising pads.
The long awaited release of Wake Up is here and DJ%u2019s better Wake Up and get on this one, as it is sure to be a hit on the dance floor. Gaining rave reviews from Pat%u2019s peers whenever he has played in guest mixes.
