I Fall (The Remixes)

Eduardo McGregor

Tales of Romance
TOR015 | 2021-06-04
Diving into the depths of Spring, we're excited to reconnect with Eduardo McGregor. The Mexican maestro has graced the likes of Cattaneo's Sudbeat and Go Deeva, showcasing a knack for afro-driven grooves, percussive rhythms, and rich melodies. He's a unique talent within dance music - a multi instrumentalist, composer, and educator.

McGregor's true musicianship brought distinct quality to his debut EP with TOR, I Fall. We now revisit the project with a remix roster brimming with some of the finest heads in the modern deep house, writing the next chapter of the project's journey. Eduardo himself kicks off the fiesta with his own reimagination of I Fall. He straightens the arrangement, while warping the vocals into more abstract territory.

Venturing further south to Bueno Aires, we connect with Maxi Degrassi. The All Day I Dream regular is well known for his delightful deep grooves, and he's brought a touch of dancefloor magic to the fore with his remix of I Fall. Layering the background vocals into lush builds, his fluttering melodies let the mind wander throughout his debut on the label.

VieL is becoming an establishment at TOR, following his stunning releases on the imprint over the last year. The Greek aficionado continues his surge with a delicious remix of The Hunt. He harnesses the low-slung vibe of the original, while swirling the melodic character into a dancefloor odyssey. A punchy kick and gritty edge meanders in and out of the foreground, spiced up with a tasting of jazz horns; a sure-fire summer classic.

Jim Rider is a man on a mission, and hasn't let the global silence slow him down. The Londoner continued to impress with his recent project on TRYBESof, and now he hops into the TOR rotation to flip I Fall… twice! Rider keeps the track in dance territory with his remix, bringing a touch of eastern electronics to greet the driven groove. He also completely reimagines the original in his ambient reprise, dropping the kick and allowing the instrumental to reign free.

To close out this bountiful project, we welcome Luis Daniel for his TOR debut. The Miami maven is turning heads with output on the likes of Tale and Tone and Kindisch. He takes aim at The Hunt, showcasing his knack for crafting minimal movers. Luis chops the vocals into a vibey hook, allowing the easy-flowing character of the original shine through; a tune for late night get-downs.
