The latest release from Nikko.Z's Dopamine White welcomes Carlos Pires back to the label for his debut EP. The Brazilian artist has been releasing his unique take on progressive house and techno for the better part of a decade. Recent releases for Dear Deer, Mind Connector Records and Vision 3 have been standouts on his resume. Having debuted on Dopamine White with a well received remix of KYOTTO's ‘Sweet Escape' last month, Carlos now makes a welcome return to the label with a two track EP entitled ‘Farewell'.

Beginning with the title cut Carlos crafts an astral tinged slice of progressive techno. Tough and driving from the outset, its fluid low end is perfectly contoured, flowing through emotive chord changes, while cosmic arps and crisp percussion fill in the framework. As the main break takes shape a warm glow comes over the narrative, perfectly complementing the percolating arps as flurries of claps send the groove into overdrive during an energetic finale

The companion piece ‘Off Axis' continues the melodic house and techno vibe of the release quite nicely. Once again backed by a tough, driving foundation, it's a wave of trance inspired arps that ultimately takes centrestage here. Buoyant and musical, they chart a course to spine tingling moments with timely modulation and complementary effects. The second of two breaks seal the track's emotional appeal, allowing for a reflective moment as the groove drops for a charged conclusion. It rounds out a stunning two track offering from Carlos Pires, who makes an excellent return to Dopamine White with his first original project.
