To celebrate the release of sneaky jesus' debut LP For Joseph Riddle, Shapes of Rhythm decided to reach out to a host of producers for reinterpretations. This is the first of remixes from the project.
First on the list of producers the label wanted to approach was Chris Menist AKA Awkward Corners. Having released his acclaimed Dislocation Songs LP for the label amidst the first lockdown of 2020, Chris went on to remix Emanative & Bex Burch's Disrupt #4 which drew brilliant reactions across the board. Chris takes on Battledance, For Joseph Riddle's percussion-heavy, psychy jam. Using a number of instruments from around the world, he throws in his trademark Illimbas, a Berimbau as well as more familiar booming 808s.
