A very warm welcome to Simon Newman.

Xmas '82 was the clincher. Simon had been given a Casio VL-Tone and Pink Floyd's 'Animals' album. It wasn't just a love of music that was born, but a fascination with sound. Why couldn't he emulate those Floyd melodies on his 50 keyboard? A journey began. Manchester late '80s saw Simon arrive as an indie kid and leave a raver. Back in '90s London he co-hosted Housework and High Anxiety parties and had several releases as a member of Somos, A.R.S and Pussycuts. Highlights include Pussycuts 'I Know What I Like' (Tag Recordings), Laidback Luke delivered a storming remix which DJ Mag proclaimed was one of '97's 'finest techno cuts', Pussycuts 'Pussycutz' on House Of 909's 'Soul Rebels' mix CD and 10' sampler which reached no. 2 in DJ Mag's house chart and the soundtrack for 'Sally Kerosene', a short film shown at the NFT and aired on Channel 4.
After a hiatus, 2012's Electric Elephant reignited the flame and Simon got the itch to start producing again. Now living in Cornwall, Simon's music takes on a more reflective mood, fusing elements of deep house, house and soulful techno - tunes with a nod to the past and a wink to the future.

A1 Not For Nothing - deep chords and a rolling bass lead you into the night.
B2 Lara's Theme - playful organ-driven groove adorned with synth goodness.
