Amani is a Swahili word which means peace.
Monks comes from the choir sounds/strings used in the EP which give the songs the spiritual/soulful touch.
This brings us to the title of the EP 'Monks of Amani', which refers to sounds of peace, sounds of healing which comes in these sorrowful times where people are losing their lives, their loved ones to different causes including homicide, pandemic and other causes. The music is meant to connect with people to give them peace, to unite all humans and help them heal from all that is happening and to also provide a platform to put everyone around the globe together in these trying times with hopes that we all put aside all our differences.

The rising and dropping bassline with the changing frequencies gives the song its groove feeling with the delayed trance pluck that comes in at the bridges as well as the arpeggio piano playing along in the song, all with the tempo at 120 BPM making them blend in perfectly which then led to the song being titled '120'.
Black Hole (track)
'Black Hole' came after I was going through a rough patch where the sounds played in my head as a way of trying to forget what was happening at the time. The madness lead, the arpeggio wobble bass and the saw lead were the first to come to mind and to be put down into the project. The piano and the deep synthesized voice put the whole idea out the way it had played and the dance drumkits just gave it the last needed touch.

With the aim to make a deep house project, the tempo and the first piano keys to play as the song starts allowed me to achieve that, but me being an Afro Tech fanatic I wanted it to have that afro tech feel in it and then decided to come with the madness lead and arpeggio lead which came with the afro tech feel but the drumkit was the last final touch needed as well as the bass with the main background piano melody.
Kombat (track)
The EP had to have a dancing tune and 'Kombat' is the perfect dancing tune, from beginning to the end. It kicks off with the trance pluck and piano keys that takes us straight to afro tech, the bass comes in at the bridge with wobbles and go to connect people with the music as the bridges rises up to come back to dancing feeling. The main background piano melody that comes in at the bridge also connects people with the music and give them time to cool off before it comes back to dancing vibes.
Tektopic Monks (track)
What is Afro Tech without getting an African feeling in my music, 'Tektopic Monks' has that typical African music feeling with African chants in it. Monks sounds come in handy with their choir feeling blending in well with the chants. The drumkits solidifies the African feeling to the song with toms, bongos and congas used in the song.
