Heliotype is a man on a mission to create a fresh new sound in electronic music. Taking elements of house, garage and jungle, the Belfast-based producer curates a sonic palette that has led to the coining of the term “Balearic Bass”.

This is feel-good, melodic music for the club, the beach or the headphones with a distinctive Ibizan edge and has already had support from the likes of Claptone and Monki to Tiesto and Steve Angello! His super strong debut on D:Vision ‘Saying Nothing’ was followed by releases on Anjunadeep, Nervous, Toolroom and Exploited and Heliotype garnered major support from across the worldwide DJing and dance radio community, including multiple spins on BBC Radio 1 with Cool Cuts and Buzz Chart entries. The credentials of this fast-rising DJ and producer are strengthened further by his skills as a radio presenter, demonstrated by the call coming from BBC Radio 1 to sit in for the legendary Pete Tong in December of 2019. This saw Stuart “Heliotype” Millar fulfill one of his musical ambitions, with radio having been a passion of his for a long time.
