"Shortly before the new restrictions, I was DJing at Night Tales in London. Prepping for the night I was going through some classics that I would like to edit to play and Gwen Guthrie & Larry Levan's killer "Ain't Nothin' Goin' On But The Rent" stood out. I brought the tempo up to fit in a house set and added some extra bass elements. It was an instant hit with the crowd. We then asked Phebe Edwards, who sang on Melvo Baptiste's version of the Ashford & Simpson song "Bad Company", if she would collaborate on this one. I've taken the production a bit darker and tougher than I did with the edit but I'm loving this tough-yet-deep sound." Kevin McKay, Jan 2021.
