Luke Solomon is undeniably one of British house music's unsung heroes, with an impressive track record of underground success. No one could debate Luke Solomon's dance music credentials. From setting up the seminal label Classic Recordings with Derrick Carter to taking quirky house to the UK Top 10 and international charts, with his band Freaks, to DJing around the globe and performing live, Luke has been there for many of the more interesting 4/4 moments of the last decade.<br><br>
And so it is with great pleasure that we are able to unleash the delights of 'Ultrasound' to concerning ears the world over. And my my do we find Luke on finer than fine form! Effortlessly joining the dots between the quirky house styles he himself pioneered as The Digital Kid and the more esoteric approaches of the artists he released via Classic and Music For Freaks. One of house's more idiosyncratic voices, Solomon's foray into the groove for Fullbarr has his stamp all over it, with the remixers obviously standing in as kindred spirits.<br><br>
The four versions range from the stark, clean synthetic features of the original, through to the warmer, more submerged Kalabrese remix and then Losoul's intense effort, which, along with the "Horn Version," marks its territory by peaking and troughing in all the right places courtesy of deft sonic architecture and a big-room sensibility. This is house music that subtly funks you up, made by someone with plenty of experience.<br><br>
Somewhat unsurprisingly support for this has been monster! Thus far we've seen cracking reviews in mixmag, djmag (Uk, Spain and Italy) as well as Resident Advisor, Transmission Data and Teshno. And as you can see, these guys (among many many others) are lapping it up:<br><br>
