About SubUrban Souls

After three years of threatening to collaborate Rob Cockerton & Darren Giles (Solid Soul) have joined forces and alongside Martin "Mayhem" Ikin (Soul Purpose Records) on Engineering duties have created Suburban Soul.

Rob Cockerton: A lover of all things house who's been rocking dance floors across London and the south east for the past 18 years. In 2001 Rob and three partners set up Identity Recordings and alongside engineer James Reynolds formed production outfit The Groovesters which went on to have huge hits with a remix of the timelessclassic "closer" by Mood II Swing and Crystal Clears "funky diva". Having left Identity Rob joined legendary record shop Citysounds in London's Hatton Garden where he has worked to date. 2005 see's him settling back into the producers chair, a welcome return in our minds!

Darren Giles: After having a huge hit "The Music" (Solid Soul) in 2004 alongside Pete Doyle under the guise of Soulizm and follow up tracks such as there remix of the Lucy Pearl classic "Don't Mess With My Man" (Solid Soul) and "Give You Love" (Solid Soul) Darren has been busy dj'ing up and down the UK. He has also since helped set up and become a main player in a new production company "Solid Soul Productions" again with Pete Doyle to look after their production duties, as well as dj bookings for both of them individually. Darren has also been working on the remix tip and with his latest efforts for northern duo Off The Cuff and there track "Shake" being signed to Soulfuric's offshoot label device the next few months should be getting busier for the man who loves his music.
