We are living in a world where women and children have felt an increase in their vulnerability which has left them feeling exposed and endangered. Human trafficking and Gender based violence is doing away with peace and harmony in the world and indeed in South Africa.

The result is a scared nation with a lot of men also terrified for the women and children in their lives. Many women fearing to even participate in normal, everyday activities such as a peaceful walk alone, a revitalizing run in their neighbourhood. Even the intimate act of falling in love has been somehow dented with so many men violating and sometimes ending up killing the women and children in their lives.

It is important to have a way to release some of these pent up emotions often left unaddressed. Music is another way to bring light to social issues and Mocchachino Ochi and her featured acts have endeavoured to do just that in her latest body of work called Abafana The Boys. The project is an Extended Play offering featuring dancer, rapper and all-round entertainer Delta The Leo on "Abo Jeff", DJ and singer/songwriter DJ Sexy Simz on a love song called "Baby Wam" and songstress and songwriter Char Monedi on "Uthando Lwami". The fourth and final track is "Themba". This EP is about celebrating the impact of men in the world and it is also about calling on men to re-affirm their place in the world as upstanding heads of homes, protectors and trusted acquaintances.
