Erland Cooper has been as busy as ever. After receiving AIM-nomination for his previous album, now receiving a SAY Award, collaborating with the Barbican on a live stream performance and releasing his third studio album 'Hether Blether,' in 2020, Erland releases 'Landforms.'
'Landforms' has been created in collaboration with producer, artist Marta Salogni. Same as the previous ambient reworks 'Murmuration' and 'Seachange', the third 'Landforms' is a continuous ambient work, split over several tracks.
'Landforms' is a seamless sonic poem, evoking the place and memory of the record that came before it. Cooper explains, "It's just a different perspective, or way of seeing. I imagine this music being created by placing recyclable source material into the North Sea and watching it become torn, pulled apart, diluted, stretched, weathered and then reassembled in an Orkney Geo. This record is an upcycling of sounds, themes and layers into a new collaborative work."
