Now on their 7th release Modelmaker welcomes back label co-founder James What who delivers an EP with three quality raw cuts for what is to be his first solo release on the imprint following a string of Berkson & What records. Curfew lands just in time for your second wave of confinement, and is designed to work just as well in the club as in the most restrictive studio flat environments. It was produced in an attic and crafted from some mail order classic analogue essentials such as 808, 101, Juno 60 clones and a long lost space echo along with a few budget guitar pedals in an attempt to create a
makeshift studio at the height of the COVID-19 confinement earlier this year.
Curfew and Identify are more on an eerie electro tip with broken 808 beats, punchy 101 bass, thick chord layers and dubbed out vocal chops, while Disconnect is a more swung and quirky affair bouncing its way along with a
subby bass and tweaked out analog synth fx.
