ATL042 | 2020-11-09
Atlant proudly heads to Latin America for an imperious EP from Øostil and Heîk, two artists steadily forging a reputation for innovative deep underground melodic techno on the likes of Afterlife, Øddity and Renaissance. ATL042 continues this exciting journey with three heavily anticipated tracks that have featured in sets from the likes of Tale of Us and Mind Against.

‘The Great Spiral' gets proceedings underway and really showcases Øostil and Heîk's understanding of composition. Here the rolling rumbling sub-bass leads a path to angular ringing arp lines and cascading emotive synths, before the main theme hits. Clever atmospheric flourishes add a sense of tension as The Great Spiral unwinds, leaving listeners longing for what is to follow.

‘Apolo' created a massive online buzz after plays from Tale Of Us at Space Miami and Junction2 Festival. It's easy to hear why people are getting excited. Deep, dark and intense Apolo hits all the right notes as Øostil and Heîk deliver a lesson in elegance and restraint. The duo really know how to play with the dynamics of a track and when to turn up the intensity at precisely the right moment. Definitely a must have for discerning DJs or your Spotify playlist.

Not to be outdone ‘Serpens' closes out the EP and shows a different side to Øostil and Heîk's game as they deliver a simmering captivating techno tool. Serpens is perfect for that point in a journey where the DJ has the audience lost in the music - a sea of arms ready to erupt and release their emotions in a sense of unity and freedom.

ATL042 gives you a sense of what Øostil and Heîk are all about. Remember their names and trust us - this is just the start and big things are expected.
