MACROGRAVITY - THAT NIGHT EP

Asia Music makes it official with Colombia-born, London-based Macrogravity for his debut release, "That Night". The EP sets out with time-tested techno energy, parading an intense three-track original sound and a remix by Skeef Menezes.

That Night
Macrogravity's debut EP opens with a mesmerizing sprawl of pulsating acid bass, roving beat and a hypnotic looped vocal. The track embodies its moniker: Relentless, heavy and mind-melting; just the way you want heady techno to be. Just as its tense repetition takes you in, it churns into a build up that takes you to full, raw, wordless emotion.

That Night (Skeef Menezes Remix)
Asia Music staple Skeef Menezes reworks "That Night" with no mercy in sight. Guttural bass, head-tearing, spacey melody and shameless in its brute power, it's a remix worthy of the original. One can't miss its time-stretched approach akin to a mad scientist's: Bold, dark and hard to pin.

Secrets
Sharp, bewitching, and laced with trickling bells and big bass, "Secrets" is an uncluttered cleanse. The percussions are crisp and smooth, with its bridge a delightful, organic surprise. It's a mid-EP track that packs a clean punch and could well be a certified club heat.

Sad Oscar
One could never resist a warp-baiting intro of kicks and hi-hats, let alone a blissed-out track that makes you miss those after-hours even more. For Macrogravity's EP closer, "Sad Oscar", it's the tease that's worth the squeeze. From the rolling, thumping bass coupled with microscopic bells, it's a sinisterly delightful melody that proves less is more. It percolates just at the right moment and breaks off into an almost-orchestral evisceration; a fitting finish for an auspicious newcomer.
