I Want My House Music

Jacob Colon, Oba Frank Lords

IAH Records

Playing the piano in a 6-piece band since the age of 16 as well as playing gospel, jazz, R&B and other genres in his live sets since, East Side producer Jacob Colon has been influenced by a variety of musical styles and they've all translated well into his productions. In the past 4 years alone, this young and talented producer has seen releases on Nervous Records, Oscar G's Made In Miami, Robbie Rivera's Juicy Music and others. His most notable accolade to date was a remix for Sted-E & Hybrid Heights featuring legendary singer Crystal Waters “I Am House,” on Kenny Dope's Dopewax imprint, a remix that helped propel the label's first hit single to the #1 spot on Billboard's Hot Dance Music Club Chart in 2018. He is now debuting his very first release on Crystal's IAH Records with a brand new dance floor banger. "I Want My House Music" is a righteous chugger, with dark cavernous synths and a rubbery deep bassline infused by a vivid vox by the one and only OBA Frank Lords. If the name sounds the least bit familiar, it's because OBA is best known for his signature vocal stylings on the world-famous MURK (Oscar G and Ralph Falcon) classic club anthem, "Darkbeat" (Addicted to Drums), which was itself a #1 Billboard Dance Chart single, among other noms. Miami-based producer & songwriter Katiahshé, who has worked with both Oscar G and Oba before on a number of notable singles signed to Nervous Records and Made In Miami, brought her songwriting talents to the table and served a nice collaborative effort with OBA on "I Want My House Music." OBA is not only the featuring vocalist, but he also comes in tough with a few of his own renditions, offering a couple of thick and chunky tech house remixes complete with snappy kicks, zappy coiled synths, and funky native congas, to get you movin'. OBA himself has since seen his fair share of releases on the aforementioned labels, adding Todd Terry's InHouse, Roger Sanchez's Stealth, Sondos and others to the list. With this tune, we can't help but immediately conjure up visions of WMC in the mid 2000's hopping from one daytime hotel pool party after another, networking en route along South Beach, transitioning to the clubs at night for the latest showcases and then doing it all over again the following day. One thing's for sure... this track will make you want Your House Music.
