After a long hiatus, the All Good Funk Alliance are finally back with a badass, 4 slices of funky goodness, EP. Starting things off on the party tip, "Let's Execute" which is a full on mid-tempo synth breaks jam with up-front lyrics from Big Stuff whose raps really propel the song forward and has that Big Daddy Kane flow which is always fresh. "Control Your Roll" slows things down, and gives us some Go-Go style drums with some great horns from Black Masala. The call and response between the horns and synth snake around the beat and make a really great groove. "For the People" gets really soulful and deep with some amazing soulful vocals from the late great Mustafa Akbar and Heidi Martin. The keyboard refrain has a kind of 90's trip hop feels which will really appeal to those who loved that era. They EP wraps up with a straight up synth funk banger, "That Chord". A funky song that will appeal to fans of more upbeat party jams, perfect for a funkier house DJ or breaks DJ that wants some depth.
