"One of my favourite periods in house music is the late 90s when the New York based producers took things deep and dark. It was perfect for Glasgow, the city I was DJing in at the time. Producers like Junior Vasquez, Danny Tenaglia, Roger Sanchez and David Morales (with his Red/Deadzone Mixes) made tracks that stayed true to the funk & disco roots of house yet were tough enough for Glasgow's "Here We, Here We, Here We F**king Go" crowd. One of the standout tracks from then was Roger Sanchez' rework of Jamiroquai's "Deeper Underground" and so when Flashmob sent me a track reinventing the same song in a similar style I was in.
