Joseph Kindred (aka Jozef K & Bluematter) takes a rare break from creating emotive club records to launch his Violet Mist alias with a deliciously atmospheric collection of nocturnal retrowave. Arpeggiated, old-school synths over shimmering pads and evocative sparse percussion make up 'Glimmer' - a masterful debut Violet Mist outing.

'I've been hearing the retrowave sound across tonnes of movies and soundtracks and was really into the nostalgic feel. Nostalgia is an emotion I heavily incorporate into any of my aliases so it was awesome to play around with that as a primary theme. Also I am a huge coldwave and dream pop fan, so this acted as an semi-outlet for that, I just like an excuse to make music if I am honest. I do fancy making the beats for an eyes-down, gloomy dream pop outfit at some point, HTRK/Black Marble style. Anyways, I'm rambling - shouts to Disintegration State for putting out this debut LP of Violet Mist - new projects are always a gamble in today's climate, so maximum appreciation for the opportunity.'

This may be unfamiliar territory and a new sound palette for Joseph, but his touch is deft and the results are captivating.
